Miguel Repas is the CEO of STRIX (www.strix.pt), a European environmental consultancy specialised in radar based bird mortality avoidance systems for wind energy projects. His main interests and activities are related to bird mortality mitigation strategies for wind farms and radar based systems, including radar assisted shutdown on demand. He has worked extensively in bird migration issues at wind farms, providing EIA reports, environmental management plans and ecological monitoring programmes using key technologies and innovative data analyses. Miguel has an Honours Degree in Zoology (University of Glasgow) and post- graduation in Applied Mathematics (Universidade Técnica de Lisboa). He is a Qualified Environmental Specialist, ISO14001, FSC, PEFC Lead Auditor and CDM/JI Verifier. He is a guest lecturer at University of St Joseph at Macau.
