Jan Olof Helldin holds a PhD in wildlife biology and is research leader at Calluna AB (Sweden). He has 25+ years experience of applied biodiversity research, in the fields of wildlife ecology, landscape ecology, ecological effects of transport infrastructures and wind power, and biodiversity management in planning processes. Jan Olof is an experienced lecturer, and has published his research in some 50 peer reviewed journal and conference papers, book chapters and reports. While mainly engaged with R&D, he involves in impact assessments of road, railway and wind power projects, particularly with expertise on birds, terrestrial mammals and scientific approach. He serves in national and international committees on road ecology, landscape ecology and conservation biology, and was a co-host for the Conference on Wind power and Environmental impacts (CWE2013) in Stockholm.
